LEICESTER DISTRIBUTION PARK
Trusted by our client to complete the construction of access and egress roads, car park areas and pedestrian footpaths at the Leicester Distribution Park situated in the Braunstone industrial estate.
We were appointed to deliver high-quality surfacing solutions for the expansion of Leicester Distribution Park, a 45-acre industrial distribution and logistics hub located just one mile from the M1 motorway. As part of the development, three new industrial units were constructed requiring extensive surfacing works to support increased traffic and operational demands.
Scope of Work
We installed over 11,500m² of roadways, car parks and footpaths to serve the newly developed units. The works included:
- 1,630m² of temporary surfacing, featuring a 60mm dense binder surface layer
- 4,000m² of car park construction, with a 100mm asphalt build-up including binder and surface course
- 2,000m² of roadway construction, incorporating a robust 200mm asphalt structure for industrial durability
- 850m² of footpath installation, comprising a 70mm dense binder and surface course
To enhance sustainability and reduce environmental impact, over 2,500 tonnes of low-carbon asphalt were installed. This innovative material delivered a carbon saving of 159 tonnes, the equivalent of planting over 6,000 tress when compared to conventional asphalt.
Completed within 19 days the project was delivered on schedule and met all client expectations. Our sustainable approach contributed to the site's long-term environmental goals while ensuring durability and high performance for industrial use.
