1858
1860-1890s
Rail used to transport granite. Steam powered machinery introduced to crush and size rock. Housing, school and church built for expanding workforce.
1930
Company becomes Bardon Hill Quarries (Ellis and Everard) Ltd.
1948
Tom family buys 50% share in the company and goes on to assume overall control.
1988
Listed on the London Stock Exchange.
1997
The now named Bardon Group merges with CAMAS to create Aggregate Industries.
1998-2000
Business makes major acquisitions in the US and two business divisions created; Aggregate Industries UK and Aggregate Industries US.
2005
Holcim Group buys Aggregate Industries.
2006
Acquisition of Foster Yeoman, one of Europe’s largest independent quarrying and asphalt companies.
2018
Quarry extension at flagship Bardon Hill Quarry announced.
2025
Aggregate Industries rebrands to become Holcim UK.
