SuperDrive asphalt has been specifically designed for domestic drives to give an aesthetically pleasing finish.

Our ProLay® System is a manufacture, supply and installation service. This product is sold as a service.

A range of distinctly coloured asphalts that use a clear penetration grade, resinous hydrocarbon binder. The SuperColour Ultra range of coloured tarmac is the ideal choice to create amazing outdoor spaces. Including driveways, footpaths, cycle lanes and play areas.

SuperLow-Carbon, is the first commercially available asphalt that uses a biogenic material within the bitumen. This effectively locks carbon within the asphalt rather than releasing it back into the atmosphere. Providing a sustainable asphalt solution.

Foamix asphalt is a hybrid between Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Material (HBM). Manufactured as a cold mix, it contains a high recycled asphalt content resulting in a low manufacturing carbon footprint.

SuperRed is a range of products that can be used in multiple applications but is more common where colour differentiation is deemed important such as private drives, cycle-ways, pedestrian areas, residential roads etc.

SuperDrainasphalt is a permeable asphalt which allows water to pass freely though to the underlying structure.

The S.M.A.Tex asphalt surface course is based on the application and experience of European based stone mastic asphalt technology, particularly where high levels of retained textures is not important.

S.M.A.Tex is a HAPAS approved thin surface course material available in 14mm and 10mm nominal size aggregates and has been specifically designed for use in heavily trafficked, high speed urban highways.

A specifically engineered asphaltic concrete 14mm dense binder course mixture, designed to fill the gap within the range of binder course materials.

A high performance 10mm polymer modified asphalt designed and engineered to provide an enhanced surface course for higher stressed areas.

A stone mastic asphalt (SMA) derivative designed to meet both the Defence Estates and BAA specifications for SMA.

A highly compactable, very strong and durable asphalt, for use in very heavily loaded areas.

A winning range of polymer modified surface course materials for urban and rural areas that combines the properties of high fatigue resistance with excellent deformation resistance.

A cold laid range of 'cut-back' asphalt materials for reinstatements work.

Frequently Asked Question

What is Asphalt?

Asphalt is a blend of aggregates (such as crushed rock, sand, gravel, or slag), a binder, and filler materials. It is commonly used for building and maintaining roads, parking lots, pavements, runways, playgrounds, and various other surfaces.

Does Asphalt Contain Tar?

Tar, a potentially harmful substance, has not been used in asphalt production since the 1980s. Nowadays, asphalt is made using bitumen, a stable material derived from crude oil. Bitumen also allows for asphalt to be recycled or repurposed at the end of its lifespan.

Are There Different Types of Asphalt?

Asphalt is designed to offer varying levels of strength and flexibility depending on its intended use. While there are seven general types of asphalt mixtures, three main categories account for 95% of the asphalt produced in the UK. These are:

  • Asphalt Concretes (ACs)
This type of asphalt features aggregate particles that are continuously graded to form an interlocking structure, held together by bitumen.
  • Hot Rolled Asphalts (HRAs)
HRAs are dense, gap-graded bituminous mixtures where the combination of fine aggregate, filler, and high-viscosity binder play a key role in the material’s final performance.
  • Stone Mastic Asphalts (SMAs)
This gap-graded asphalt mixture includes a blend of single-sized coarse crushed aggregates, forming a stone skeleton bound by a high content of bitumen.
What are the Advantages of Warm Mix Asphalts (WMAs)?

Warm Mix Asphalts are produced and applied at lower temperatures compared to traditional asphalt, using less energy and offering carbon savings without sacrificing quality. The use of WMAs can reduce CO2 emissions from asphalt production, road construction, and maintenance by up to 15%.

Is Asphalt Sustainable?

Asphalt is fully recyclable, and we are continuously striving to increase the amount of recycled material used in new asphalt mixtures - this is commonly referred to as recycled asphalt paving (RAP) . We have a several low carbon products in our range including Foamix and Super low carbon.
