We were appointed by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to deliver 184 tennis court projects across the south of England, with an average order value of £55k per project.
As specialists in sports surfacing we were trusted to enhance the facilities, ensuring they were safe, secure and inviting for the local community to enjoy.
The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) were appointed by the government to complete the Parks Improvement Programme Framework in 2023, the framework looks to upgrade poorly conditioned tennis courts in public parks back to life to bring value, quality service, physical and mental health benefits to the local communities.
We were appointed on the LTA Tennis refurbishment framework for the south of the UK, one of the largest lots to complete the refurbishment to over 184 identified tennis courts in need of reinvigorating to support the local communities by improving the facilities, making them a safe, secure and fun area for members of the public to enjoy playing tennis.

We have calculated a total of 11.45% of carbon savings were made by us on the LTA projects, the equivalent of planting 2,778 trees.
The LTA have also reported a 40% uplift in community participation following completion of the projects.
One of these projects being the resurfacing and fencing installation at Wolf Fields, Southall.
Scope of Works
The project at Wolf Fields involved:
Full resurfacing of a double tennis court
New 3m high perimeter fencing for security
Installation of new tennis posts and nets
Surface colouring and professional line marking in accordance with LTA standards
Resurfacing & Materials
To ensure longevity and optimal playing conditions we excavated the courts to a depth of 365mm and installed:
- Fresh geo-textile membrane for ground stability
- 300mm Type 3 base course for drainage and strength
- 40mm porous binder course for durability
- 25mm SuperSport surface course for a smooth and high-performance playing surface
SuperSport, an asphalt product, was specifically chosen due to its free-draining properties, ensuring no standing water remains, allowing quick play even after rainfall. This material is fully LTA and SAPCA compliant.
Sustainable Approach
To support the LTA’s sustainability goals we installed SuperSport as a warm mix asphalt, reducing the carbon footprint compared to conventional materials.
Successful Completion
The project was delivered in just over one working week ensuring minimal disruption and a quick turnaround for the community.

“This has been the idea – to give back to the community. we have managed to give something back to society and promote tennis at the same time, then the effort and passion we have put into this heartfelt project has been very worthwhile. Tennis is such a great sport for everybody getting together and seeing each other and just hanging out as well at the court. I really hope this place is going to be a place where people love to come, the community, the neighbours, and just have the best times and create memories for a lifetime”
